There are two predominant styles: Persian silk and Indian silk. The only difference is who makes them, since Persian styles were copied in India. Both are of the highest quality. At Arquinter we also import hand-knotted rugs from Pakistan. We include them in the Persian style, since that area was part of the Persian empire. Pakistani rugs are excellent in terms of quality and price.
In the most exclusive rugs, silk is used for the warp, weft and pile, allowing the weaver to create refined details. Another high-quality option is to use cotton and leave silk as the protagonist for the visible parts.
The most visible feature is its exquisite detail and soft touch that silk allows.
