Hand knotted rug
Hand-knotted in the Tabriz area in north-west Persia. A very durable rug with a short, stiff pile. The decoration is usually made up of a central medallion surrounded by arabesques, weeping willow and cypress trees. Another highly appreciated motif is that of the four seasons which describe the life of the Persian peasant during spring, summer, autumn and winter.
Being made of wool, it is a natural dirt repellent, has good fire resistance and maintains its shape very well over time.
This rug has a history : it has been used and has been hand-made for 50 or more years. Its overall condition is good, but it may have minor defects caused by the passage of time. It is already considered antique and its value is on the rise.
